Sullair air compressor air quality

The Sullair System's Air Quality is one of the best in the industry.  Sullair Air Compressor Optimizer

The Sullair System matches a Sullair air compressor, a Sullair dryer and Sullair filters. Sullair assures that its System will meet specific performance levels through its operational life. Sullair offers a one-year test/review period, backed by a purchase refund guarantee, to verify the air cmopressor performance and the air system.

Lowest Fluid Carryover
While others claim a low carryover of 5 ppm (parts per million) or more, Sullair's single-stage air compressor offer a carryover rate of less than 1 pppm–the lowest in the industry. Sullair's Multi-Stage Separation (MSS), uses a sump design, which allows use of oversized dual nested separators.

Sullair Optimizer™ Air/Fluid Separator
A high-efficiency separator that will pay for itself during the life of the separator in reduced compressor fluid carryover and electrical power consumption.

The Sullair Critical Air Quality Guarantee
The compressed air from this Sullair Air Compressor System exceeds the ISO standard (ISO 8573.1, Class1 for oil vapor and Class 2 for Particulate). The system includes a Sullair air compressor, Sullair dryer, and Sullair SCF, SCH, and SCC; or PF, PH, and PC air filters. The odor-free compressed air from this air compressor system contains particulates no larger than 0.01 micron, including water, and oil aerosol content of 0.01 ppm by weight (ppm/w) @ 70
°F. The remaining oil vapor content is less than 0.003 ppm/w.

Is Your Forklift’s Hydraulic System Protected?

November 16, 2009 at 4:44 PMRing Power
forklift hydraulic troubleshooting

The hydraulic system of your forklift is the heart and lifeblood of your forklift. A forklift with a hydraulic contamination can result in extensive damage and extended forklift downtime – and downtime means less productivity and material handling moving. Use these forklift hydraulic systemtips from Ring Power Lift Trucks to keep your forklift healthy and operating smoothly.

  1. Hydraulic Control Valve
Incorrect hydraulic pressure can damage seals and restrict lift capacity. External leaks from the control valve and other sealed areas can contaminate the operating environment, accelerate component wear and reduce performance.
  2. Lift Cylinder
Lift cylinder oil leaks could result in load drift problems and contamination of the operating environment. Low fluid can accelerate wear of a forklift’s hydraulic components. Leaks can occur externally or internally within the cylinder. Be watchful of hydraulic oil on the ground or on components.
  3. Tilt Cylinder
Tilt cylinder oil leaks could cause uncontrolled mast movement and contamination of the operating environment. Low fluid can accelerate wear of hydraulic components. Leaks can occur externally.
  4. Hydraulic Hoses and Auxiliary Lines
Missing or damaged forklift hoses, tubes, lines and/or retainers could result in routing and interference problems. Bent or damaged hydraulic hose sheaves can damage the hoses. Both can result in oil leakage into the operating environment.
  5. Hydraulic Fluid
Low fluid levels or heavy particles in the hydraulic oil can accelerate wear of the hydraulic pump and other hydraulic system components. Check the forklift’s hydraulic fluid reservoir and maintain proper levels.
  6. Hydraulic Filter
A forklift with a clogged suction strainer or return filter restricts oil flow, increases the forklift’s system pressure and accelerates wear of internal hydraulic components, all of which can lead to premature system failure.
  7. Steering System
Leaking steering cylinders and/or hydraulic connections may contaminate the operating environment and result in loss of steering. Low fluid levels can accelerate hydraulic component wear.

Ring Power Lift Trucks is the forklift division of Ring Power Corporation, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Additional offices service Pompano Beach, Miami, Daytona Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Ocala, Sarasota, and Tallahassee. Ring Power Lift Truck services and repairs all makes of forklifts including Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Crown, Nissan and others. Click to schedule a service appointment.

Controlling Energy Costs

how to save energy costs with Sullair Air Compressors

Sullair Air Compressors with VCC cuts energy costs dramatically

Lower Maintenance
As a result of Sullair Air Compressor's rugged, time-proven design, the Variable Capacity Control or VCC requires only minimum maintenance  for optimum performance. There are no troublesome belst or expensive bull gear arrangements to wear out or to replace.

Part Load Capacityair compressor load performance chart
The chart at right shows how a Sullair rotary screw air compressor with variable displacement reduces power consumption as the air compressor load drops. More importantly, it illustrates the substantial power savings at part-load when compared to other capacity control systems.

New EPA Emission Regulations for Stationary Diesel Engines

October 7, 2009 at 3:23 PMRing Power
EPA Emissions for Stationary Diesel Engines

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing new national emissions standards for hazardous air pollutants for stationary reciprocating internal combustion engines that are not already covered by earlier EPAoxidation catalystregulations.

The newly announced regulation would set emission limits from certain stationary diesel engines. EPA expects the plan to be fully implemented by 2013. The EPA is required to complete the final rule by February 10, 2010.

EPA’s announcement said that in 2008, over 1 million of these engines generated electricity, powered equipment and operated during emergencies at industrial, agricultural and other facilities. Specifically, EPA said these engines are used at facilities such as power, chemical and manufacturing plants to generate electricity and power pumps and compressors. They are also used to produce electricity and pump water for flood and fire control in emergencies.

EPA said this rule would apply to engines that are smaller than or equal to 500 hp that were manufactured before June 12, 2006. It also covers engines larger than or equal to 500 hp that were manufactured before December 19, 2002.

Owners of operators of existing engines would be required to install emissions control equipment that would limit emissions by up to 90-percent, perform emissions tests to demonstrate engine performance and compliance with rule requirements and burn ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel in non-emergency engines with a site rating greater than 300 hp. To meet the proposed emissions requirements, owners and operators would need to install aftertreatment controls on the exhaust system, such as filters or catalysts.

The proposed EPA rule focuses on two options for aftertreatment control of emissions. One is oxidation catalysts, a technology the EPA believes can achieve air toxics reductions up to 90-percent, but can only reduce fine particle emissions by about 30-percent. Catalyzed diesel particulate filters are also a listed technology to reduce air toxins and particle emissions, including black carbon soot at over 90-percent.

Phoenix Products specializes in the manufacture of generator set enclosures, fuel storage tanks, electrical control panels and insulation blankets for exhaust systems, as well as metal stairs and platforms. Their headquarters reside in Jacksonville, Florida with offices in Oakdale, California.
