How Forklift Operator Training Is Creating Opportunities at The Arc Jacksonville
Ring Power Lift Trucks continues to strengthen its partnership with The Arc Jacksonville, advancing workforce development and workplace safety through equipment support and forklift operator training.
Last year, Ring Power Lift Trucks donated a forklift to The Arc Jacksonville to support operations at its Triumph Industries facility. The equipment has helped improve material handling efficiency as production operations continue to grow and serve major customers, including Johnson & Johnson Vision.
Building on that initial donation, the partnership has evolved to focus on long-term workforce development through comprehensive forklift operator training. Most recently, Patrick Knisel of Ring Power Lift Trucks returned to The Arc Jacksonville to deliver a Train-the-Trainer forklift certification course designed to help the organization develop and sustain its own training program.
Through the course, Dallas Scott, Warehouse and Production Manager at The Arc Jacksonville, completed instructor certification and is now qualified to conduct forklift operator training and certify employees in-house. This capability allows The Arc to continue developing skilled operators while maintaining consistent safety standards throughout its facility.
Following completion of the Train-the-Trainer program, Dallas successfully certified The Arc Jacksonville’s first forklift operator under the new internal training model. The achievement marks a significant milestone in the organization’s commitment to safety, operational excellence, and workforce development.
The Arc Jacksonville’s Triumph Industries program provides meaningful employment opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental differences. With approximately 45 employees earning at least minimum wage, the facility depends on safe and efficient equipment operation to support production demands and meet customer expectations. Ongoing forklift operator training plays an important role in ensuring employees have the skills and knowledge needed to work safely and confidently.
