Ring Power Presence at Construction Career Days Boosts Interest in Service Tech Careers

In January, members of Ring Power’s training department traveled to the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando for Construction Career Days. The purpose of the annual event is to introduce high school students to the wide range of career opportunities in the construction industry.

Approximately 375 students attended the two-day event this year. In one of the 20 lab sessions they presented to the students, Teri Brown (St. Augustine Customer Training, Apprentice Program & Think Big Manager), Gabe Sacco (St. Augustine Training Instructor) and Matt Sessions (Orlando HE Sales Rep) spoke to students about paths to employment in selling and servicing heavy equipment. They also entertained questions about the benefits of working for a company like Ring Power.

Following the presentation, students teamed up and competed against each other utilizing power wrenches to see who could remove and replace segment bolts the fastest. Cat hats were awarded to the winning teams.

Kudos to Gabe Sacco, Teri Brown and Matt Sessions, and to Wayne Veitch (WCC Transportation Division Manager) and Brian Wood (St. Augustine Assistant Fleet Manager) who also played a part in making this year’s event a great success!
